Chief Minister M.K. Stalin shared excerpts from his keynote address delivered at the valedictory conference of the Vallalar 200 centenary celebrations in Vadalur. Highlighting the spiritual and philosophical vision of saint Ramalinga Swamigal, popularly known as Vallalar, Stalin reiterated that the 19th-century reformer's core gospel of universal compassion, known as Jeeva Karunyam, aligns closely with the modern ideals of social justice and human brotherhood.
The Chief Minister recalled that Vallalar opened the eternal kitchen at Vadalur to feed the hungry without caste or sectarian discrimination, proclaiming that hunger is the greatest insult to human dignity. Stalin pointed out that his administration draws inspiration from Vallalar's humanist philosophy, translating his compassion into government programs such as the free breakfast scheme for school children and community nutrition initiatives.
Stalin affirmed that celebrating Vallalar's 200th birth anniversary across Tamil Nadu reflects the state's deep commitment to humanitarian service and social equality. He urged citizens to eliminate social divisions, practice empathy, and embrace rational spiritualism. The Chief Minister concluded that honoring Vallalar's message helps build a progressive, inclusive society founded on mutual respect, care, and collective welfare.
