அரசுக்கு வணிகர்கள் செலுத்த வேண்டிய நிலுவைத் தொகை தொடர்பாக 2,11,607 வழக்குகள் நிலுவையில் உள்ளதால் வணிகவரித் துறையின் பணிச்சுமை அதிகரித்திருப்பதோடு வணிகர்களும் சிரமத்திற்கு உள்ளாகியுள்ளனர்.
இதைக் களைய, தமிழ்நாட்டின் வரலாற்றில் முதல்முறையாக சிறுவணிகர்களுக்கு வரி நிலுவைத் தொகையை முழுவதுமாகத் தள்ளுபடி செய்யும் அறிவிப்பைச் சட்டமன்றத்தில் செய்தேன்.
இத்தகைய சிறுவணிகர்கள் தவிர பிற வணிகர்களும் நான்கு வரம்புகளாகப் பிரிக்கப்பட்டு அவர்களுக்குரிய தள்ளுபடிகளை அறிவித்தேன்.
