Chief Minister M.K. Stalin delivered a pointed rejoinder to opposition parties regarding the premature release of long-term Muslim prisoners on humanitarian grounds. Speaking forcefully in the Legislative Assembly, Stalin challenged political adversaries to explain who was genuinely taking lawful, institutional measures for the release of incarcerated individuals, and who had completely failed to lift a finger during their ten years in power while actively supporting anti-minority legislation.
Stalin exposed the hypocrisy of political opponents who previously voted in favor of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and supported divisive Union policies, but now feign sudden concern for minority welfare. He detailed how the DMK government established a high-level committee headed by retired High Court Judge Justice N. Authinathan to formulate objective, lawful criteria for the premature release of elderly and long-serving prisoners, including minorities, while meticulously respecting constitutional and judicial parameters.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed that the DMK government's commitment to minority protection and social justice is rooted in unwavering principle rather than electoral opportunism. He assured that the administration continues working diligently through established legal channels to secure justice and humane relief for eligible prisoners without delay.
