On the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin unveiled a magnificent bronze statue of the revered scientist and former President of India on the historic campus of Anna University in Chennai. Stalin observed that the university holds profound significance in Kalam's extraordinary life journey, serving as the cherished institution where he studied aerospace engineering and later returned to teach young minds as a visiting professor.

In his commemorative address, Stalin highlighted Kalam's humble beginnings as a government school student from Rameswaram who rose through sheer determination, intellect, and hard work to lead India's space and missile defense programs. The Chief Minister pointed out that Kalam's life embodies the egalitarian promise of the Dravidian movement—proving that when educational access is democratized, talent from the most modest rural backgrounds can achieve supreme national and global eminence.
