Chief Minister M.K. Stalin convened an exhaustive law and order review meeting at the Secretariat, instructing top police officers and district superintendents to make the police force genuinely accessible, compassionate, and transparent. Stalin emphasized that the primary metric of successful policing is the complete elimination of fear among the public, ensuring that citizens, especially women and vulnerable communities, view police stations as welcoming sanctuaries of swift justice.
The Chief Minister directed law enforcement agencies to integrate advanced digital technology, modern intelligence tools, and citizen-volunteer networks like Friends of Police to prevent organized crimes before they occur. Emphasizing inter-departmental collaboration, Stalin instructed police authorities to work closely with highways and transport departments to implement evidence-based traffic engineering and reduce road fatalities significantly. He also mandated that District Superintendents of Police personally attend weekly Wednesday grievance redressal meetings without fail to address public petitions directly.
Stalin underscored that maintaining impartial communal harmony and robust law and order forms the fundamental bedrock for Tamil Nadu's sustained industrial investment and economic progress. He cautioned officers against administrative complacency, urging the department to uphold the highest professional standards of integrity and duty.
