Chief Minister M.K. Stalin officially placed his signature on the massive public petition demanding the abolition of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), spearheaded by DMK Youth Wing Secretary and Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin. Launching an urgent call to action, Stalin invited students, parents, educators, and citizens across political lines to join the signature campaign in overwhelming numbers to amplify Tamil Nadu's collective voice against the exclusionary centralized examination.
Stalin reiterated that securing an exemption from NEET remains a non-negotiable objective for Tamil Nadu. He emphasized that the standardized examination severely discriminates against talented students from rural backgrounds, underprivileged families, and state board government schools who cannot afford exorbitant private coaching fees. The tragic loss of numerous aspiring young lives due to acute exam stress underscores the deep social crisis inflicted by this rigid testing regime.
The Chief Minister affirmed that the signature movement, targeting 50 lakh endorsements across the state, will be formally submitted to the President of India. Stalin maintained that medical admissions should reflect school academic performance, ensuring that doctor education remains accessible, equitable, and aligned with social justice.
