DMK President and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched a scathing critique against the Union government's weaponization of federal investigation agencies during his address at a booth-level cadres conference in Tiruvallur. Stalin posed sharp questions to the Union leadership, demanding to know why the Income Tax Department and Enforcement Directorate operate with relentless vigor exclusively across opposition-governed states while completely turning a blind eye to corruption allegations in states ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Stalin highlighted the abysmal record of federal probe agencies, pointing out that despite widespread raids, property attachments, and politically timed arrests of opposition leaders, their judicial conviction rate remains below a dismal one percent. This statistical fact exposes that these agencies function primarily as political intimidation instruments designed to harass democratic opponents, defame federal leaders, and influence elections rather than combat financial misconduct.
The DMK President urged booth agents to take these factual contradictions directly to the electorate, exposing how constitutional institutions are degraded to suppress regional voices. Stalin affirmed that the INDIA alliance will dismantle this partisan misuse of central bodies, restoring institutional autonomy, constitutional integrity, and democratic fairness to India’s federal system.
