Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued comprehensive directives to cabinet ministers, district collectors, and disaster response teams to maintain constant vigilance across districts impacted by persistent North-East Monsoon downpours. Stalin instructed administrative personnel to remain stationed on the ground, closely track rainfall patterns, monitor reservoir inflow levels, and execute rapid precautionary measures to prevent flooding in low-lying residential habitations and agricultural fields.
The Chief Minister stressed that government departments must operate in close coordination to ensure uninterrupted civic services, maintain emergency power backup in public hospitals, clear stormwater channels, and ensure rapid water draining from road corridors. Pre-positioned rescue personnel and relief camps equipped with clean drinking water, food packets, and medical supplies were placed on standby to facilitate immediate evacuation if water levels rise.
To ensure citizens have immediate access to emergency services, Stalin publicized state disaster control helplines, advising the public to reach out via 1070 and 1077, or through WhatsApp at 9445869848 for swift assistance. He assured the public that the government machinery is working around the clock to protect human lives and minimize monsoon disruption.
