Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin commemorated the foundation day of the South Indian Liberal Federation, popularly known as the historic Justice Party, describing it as the dawn of modern Tamil society's struggle against centuries of caste hierarchy and social injustice. Stalin emphasized that the founding of the Justice Party in November 1916 sowed the revolutionary seeds of reservation, educational access, women's suffrage, and communal representation that completely transformed Tamil Nadu over the past century.
Stalin highlighted that the path-breaking administrative reforms introduced by Justice Party ministries—including the historic Communal Government Order, mid-day meals in schools, and the establishment of the Staff Selection Board—demolished elite monopolies in government and education. These progressive policies laid the unshakeable foundation upon which the Dravidian movement, the Self-Respect Movement of Thanthai Periyar, and subsequent DMK administrations built a progressive welfare state.
The Chief Minister asserted that while reactionary adversaries and political challenges continually emerge on the ideological battlefield, the Dravidian movement's core objective remains unaltered: establishing an egalitarian society rooted in self-respect, rationalism, and social justice. Stalin called upon the public and cadres to recommit themselves to this noble historical mission.
