Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin commemorated the birth centenary of former Chief Minister and Dravidian icon M. Karunanidhi, celebrating him as a visionary institution builder whose structural reforms permanently transformed Tamil Nadu's socio-economic landscape. Under the banner of Kalaignar 100, Stalin emphasized that modern Tamil Nadu's economic resilience, industrial prowess, and social equity are rooted in the enduring governmental bodies, universities, and public corporations established during Karunanidhi's five administrative tenures.
Stalin highlighted that Karunanidhi founded foundational bodies, including the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board, the Police Commission, the Backward Classes Commission, TIDCO, and SIPCOT. These institutions institutionalized social welfare and industrial progress, ensuring that state support reached marginalized populations systematically rather than through sporadic charity. Each body stands as an enduring monument to Karunanidhi's visionary governance and administrative acumen.
The Chief Minister asserted that the present Dravidian Model government continues to build upon this sturdy institutional architecture. By expanding public sector capacity, investing in modern infrastructure, and delivering targeted welfare programs, the administration honors Karunanidhi's historic legacy. Stalin reaffirmed that the progressive era of Dravidian governance will endure, securing continuous prosperity, social dignity, and self-respect for all Tamil people.
