Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the JR One footwear manufacturing facility within the Phoenix Kothari Footwear Park in Perambalur district, exemplifying the Dravidian Model's vision of equitable and geographically dispersed industrial growth. Stalin highlighted that the state administration fulfilled its promises by bringing major industrial investments to an economically backward district and commencing operations within merely one year of laying the foundation stone.
The newly commissioned manufacturing unit generates 4,000 employment opportunities, with women comprising eighty percent of the workforce. Stalin noted that providing rural women with stable, dignified manufacturing jobs accelerates gender empowerment, raises household earnings, and transforms local agrarian economies into vibrant industrial corridors. Fast-tracking regulatory clearances and providing robust infrastructure demonstrated the government's business-friendly administrative efficiency.
Stalin affirmed that Tamil Nadu continues to consolidate its global reputation as a premier manufacturing destination and the footwear capital of South Asia. By intentionally guiding large multinational investments into interior and underdeveloped districts rather than concentrating factories near metropolitan cities, the state ensures inclusive regional development. The Chief Minister reiterated that sustainable industrialization paired with female workforce participation remains the cornerstone of Tamil Nadu's economic expansion.
