Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin directed ministers, members of the legislative assembly, parliamentarians, local body representatives, and district party functionaries to mobilize immediately across their respective constituencies to assist citizens during Cyclone Michaung. With meteorological agencies forecasting severe and heavy rainfall over the subsequent two days, Stalin emphasized that elected representatives must work in close coordination with government officials engaged in field relief operations.
Stalin urged grassroots representatives to identify vulnerable neighborhoods, provide immediate support for citizens' essential requirements, and assist rescue teams in evacuating waterlogged residential areas. He emphasized that administrative machinery and political leadership must act cohesively to ensure continuous water draining, supply distribution, and community protection throughout the cyclone.
To ensure prompt assistance, Stalin publicized dedicated emergency helpline numbers for public use. Citizens were advised to reach the Tamil Nadu State Disaster Management Authority via state control number 1070, district helplines at 1077, WhatsApp helpline 9445869848, and the Greater Chennai Corporation at 1913. Stalin affirmed that seamless communication between residents and emergency response teams is essential to rapidly addressing inundation, clearing fallen trees, and delivering relief during extreme weather events.
