Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin assured the public that the state administration remains fully primed to confront Cyclone Michaung as severe weather approached northern coastal districts. Stalin confirmed that cabinet ministers and senior bureaucratic officials had already taken positions across vulnerable sectors to direct emergency operations, supervise response teams, and monitor vulnerable low-lying habitations.
Stalin urged residents across affected districts to exercise extreme caution and strictly follow official safety advisories issued by disaster management authorities. With intense rainfall and heavy wind gusts forecast across coastal belts, he requested citizens to remain indoors and avoid non-essential travel until the peak cyclonic impact subsided. Precautionary measures, he stressed, are crucial to preventing avoidable accidents and allowing rescue machinery unimpeded access across urban corridors.
The Chief Minister highlighted that municipal workers, emergency responders, and medical personnel were positioned on round-the-clock alert. Shelters stocked with food, clean drinking water, and backup power were activated across vulnerable zones. Stalin reiterated that the state government is taking every possible step to safeguard lives, maintain critical public infrastructure, and ensure rapid response to emergencies throughout the storm's trajectory.
