Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin appealed to all political parties, civic organizations, and volunteers to collaborate with the state administration in mitigating the impact of Cyclone Michaung. Describing the storm as an unprecedented meteorological crisis bringing historically heavy rainfall, Stalin emphasized that collective solidarity is essential to overcome large-scale urban inundation and assist stranded citizens across the Chennai metropolitan area and adjoining districts.
To accelerate ground-level rescue and rehabilitation, Stalin designated thirteen state ministers to oversee relief operations directly across critical zones. Additional personnel from municipal corporations, the State Disaster Response Force, fire and rescue services, and public works departments were mobilized for continuous field operations. These specialized teams focused on evacuating waterlogged neighborhoods, clearing fallen trees, operating relief shelters, and distributing cooked meals and essential supplies to affected residents.
Stalin stressed that addressing a severe natural calamity requires non-partisan cooperation and unified civic determination. He urged all public representatives, volunteers, and welfare associations to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with government workers. By pooling administrative and community resources, Stalin affirmed that Tamil Nadu would swiftly restore civic normalcy, protect vulnerable residents, and ensure comprehensive relief reached every affected citizen.
