Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin stated that while completely draining stagnant floodwaters and restoring metropolitan normalcy after Cyclone Michaung requires continuous effort, extensive ground operations are proceeding at rapid speed. To expedite dewatering across heavily inundated zones, the state government mobilized additional sanitation and technical workers, high-capacity dewatering pumps, and specialized machinery deputed from various other districts across Tamil Nadu.

Stalin issued strict directives to all deputed municipal personnel, senior administrative officers, and local elected representatives to remain on the ground until every neighborhood is cleared of stagnant water. Emphasizing hands-on governance, the Chief Minister affirmed that he is directly and continuously monitoring the progress of dewatering, road clearance, power restoration, and food distribution operations across all affected sectors.

Acknowledging the extraordinary volume of precipitation dumped by the cyclone, Stalin urged citizens and frontline teams to work collaboratively during this critical period.
