Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M.K. Stalin highlighted that the entire state machinery—including cabinet ministers, administrative officers, police forces, sanitation staff, and municipal corporation workers—is actively engaged on the ground to mitigate the impacts of Cyclone Michaung. Stalin emphasized that coordinated governmental action is working relentlessly to clear stormwater drains, remove fallen trees, restore electricity, and ensure essential provisions reach all affected citizens.
Recognizing the immense scale of urban devastation, Stalin issued a direct appeal to DMK party cadres across Tamil Nadu. While commending party volunteers already working alongside civic teams, he specifically urged party members from areas where floodwaters had already receded to immediately mobilize and assist recovery operations in severely inundated neighborhoods.
The Chief Minister stressed that mutual assistance and community solidarity are foundational values of the Dravidian movement. By coordinating with local relief camps, distributing dry food rations, and supporting elderly and vulnerable residents, party cadres can significantly ease public distress during this natural disaster. Stalin reaffirmed that unified grassroots action combining public administration and dedicated community volunteerism will expedite Chennai's return to normalcy and safety.
