Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin conducted intensive ground reviews of persistent waterlogging across Chennai’s suburban municipalities and low-lying residential layouts following torrential rains from Cyclone Michaung. Acknowledging that stagnant floodwaters continue to challenge everyday life in several outlying suburban localities, Stalin emphasized that the entire administrative apparatus is focused on restoring normal civic conditions swiftly.
The Chief Minister directed municipal authorities, civil supplies officials, and cooperative agencies to ensure that essential necessities—particularly hot cooked meals, dry grocery provisions, baby milk, and clean drinking water—reach every stranded family without interruption. Special motorized rescue boats, tractors, and high-clearance rescue vehicles have been deployed to transport supplies into heavily inundated lanes where surface vehicular transport remains hindered.
Stalin expressed heartfelt appreciation for the thousands of municipal personnel, disaster rescue workers, and volunteers laboring tirelessly in wet and difficult field conditions. Reaffirming his administration's steadfast determination, the Chief Minister stated that dedicated field operations will proceed continuously around the clock until the last pocket of standing water is drained and full civic normalcy is restored to every affected household across the metropolitan suburban belt.
