Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced that he is donating his personal salary of one month to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund to support emergency relief and rehabilitation works following Cyclone Michaung. Acknowledging that over one crore citizens across Chennai and neighboring districts suffered severe distress due to catastrophic flooding, Stalin emphasized the vital need for widespread community solidarity during natural disasters.
The Chief Minister extended an earnest appeal to all Members of the Legislative Assembly, Members of Parliament, corporate organizations, charitable trusts, and everyday citizens to contribute generously to the relief fund. He expressed sincere gratitude to good Samaritans, non-governmental organizations, and civic volunteers who had already come forward voluntarily to provide financial aid and material assistance to flood-hit populations.
Stalin stressed that rehabilitating millions of displaced citizens, repairing damaged public assets, and restoring civic infrastructure require collective financial strength. While the state government mobilizes substantial budgetary outlays, public contributions amplify emergency interventions and ensure comprehensive welfare support. Stalin reaffirmed his government's resolve to deploy every donated rupee transparently and effectively to rebuild damaged communities and safeguard vulnerable families.
