#StopHindiImposition
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued a strongly worded condemnation regarding an incident at Goa airport, where a CISF security officer harassed a Tamil woman passenger. When the passenger stated that she did not know Hindi, the officer reportedly questioned whether Tamil Nadu was outside India and lectured that every citizen must learn Hindi. Stalin denounced this conduct as intolerable linguistic arrogance that violates citizen dignity.
The Chief Minister asserted that security officers must be educated that Hindi is merely an official language of the Union, not the national language of India. Our republic was established as a federal union comprising diverse linguistic and cultural communities, none of which should be subordinated to another. Stalin emphasized that personnel entrusted with national security must conduct themselves in alignment with federal values rather than functioning as cultural enforcers.
Stalin urged the Central Industrial Security Force to institute strict protocols ensuring that airport personnel treat travelers of all languages with equal courtesy and professional dignity. He declared that attempts to impose linguistic uniformity contradict the Indian Constitution and will be resisted resolutely to safeguard the identity and self-respect of non-Hindi speaking citizens.
