Suspension of 15 Opposition MPs, including DMK MP @KanimozhiDMK is undemocratic and undermines the spirit of Parliamentary democracy.
The intolerant attitude of the BJP-led Union Govt is condemnable.
Is crushing MPs' freedom of expression the new norm in our Parliament? Why are people's representatives punished for seeking answers on a major security breach in our temple of democracy ?
We demand the immediate revocation of the 15 MPs' suspension. Parliament must be a forum for debate and definitely not for silencing opposition.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin strongly condemned the suspension of 15 Opposition Members of Parliament, including DMK Lok Sabha MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, characterizing the action as fundamentally undemocratic. Stalin asserted that suspending elected lawmakers who demanded transparent answers and accountability regarding the major security breach inside Parliament undermines the core tenets of legislative democracy.
The Chief Minister questioned whether silencing the political opposition and crushing freedom of expression has become the accepted norm under the BJP-led Union Government. He noted that Parliament is the supreme temple of Indian democracy, conceived specifically as a national platform for deliberative debate, rigorous questioning, and governmental accountability, rather than an authoritarian arena to punish public representatives.
Demanding the immediate and unconditional revocation of the suspensions, Stalin stated that the Union Government cannot evade its constitutional responsibility to protect the nation's highest legislative institution. He stressed that when lawmakers voice legitimate safety concerns on behalf of the citizenry, penalizing them sets a perilous precedent. Stalin affirmed that DMK parliamentarians and their allies will persist in defending democratic freedoms, transparency, and federal representation against central authoritarianism.
