Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the distribution of 6,000 rupees cash relief for families affected by Cyclone Michaung at Velachery in Chennai, initiating a massive statewide rehabilitation initiative. To support livelihoods disrupted by torrential rains and inundation across Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, and Chengalpattu districts, the state government sanctioned a total financial outlay of 1,486 crore rupees, directly benefiting 24.25 lakh eligible households.

Personally handing over financial assistance tokens and relief aid to local residents, Stalin reaffirmed that the state administration stands resolutely by the public during times of natural adversity. The emergency cash relief is disbursed through local ration shops to ensure swift, dignified, and direct access for every affected family without cumbersome procedural delays.

Stalin observed that Cyclone Michaung caused immense hardship to urban and rural working families, damaging household belongings, tools, and basic necessities. He emphasized that this substantial financial outlay reflects the caring, people-centric governance of the Dravidian Model. Reaffirming his personal dedication, Stalin declared that his public service will continue relentlessly until every impacted family recovers fully from the devastating aftermath of the storm.
