Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid glowing tribute to coastal fishermen and courageous rural villagers across Thoothukudi, Kanniyakumari, Tirunelveli, Ramanathapuram, and Pudukkottai districts for their heroic selflessness during unprecedented southern floods. Hundreds of traditional fishermen traveled with their boats into deep inland floodwaters, braving perilous currents to rescue thousands of marooned families. Stalin also lauded villagers near Srivaikuntam who provided food, shelter, and medical care to stranded passengers of the Tiruchendur Express train.

Invoking Mahatma Gandhi's memorable words that the best way to find oneself is to lose oneself in the service of others, Stalin stated that the noble sacrifices of coastal communities demonstrate humanity at its finest. He noted that their spontaneous compassion triumphed over natural calamity and highlighted the deep bonds of solidarity that unite Tamil society.

The Chief Minister affirmed that true humanity flourishes when citizens selflessly support one another during extreme adversity, defeating hatred and cynicism.
