Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed the convocation ceremony at Bharathidasan University in Tiruchirappalli, conferring degrees upon graduating scholars and undergraduate students. Stalin invoked the fiery, egalitarian verses of revolutionary poet Bharathidasan, after whom the institution is named, urging young scholars to dedicate their knowledge to dismantling social prejudices and advancing rationalism. He stressed that a university degree is not merely a passport to personal career advancement but a sacred instrument of collective social transformation.
The Chief Minister commended the university faculty for maintaining rigorous academic standards and expanding research across biotechnology, environmental science, and humanities. He pointed out that the Dravidian Model governance prioritizes university funding, faculty recruitment, and digital research infrastructure to ensure state institutions match global benchmarks. Stalin highlighted how state educational subsidies ensure that first-generation learners and rural students achieve university distinction without financial burden.
Stalin called on graduates to champion ethical values, scientific temper, and democratic principles in their professional lives. He affirmed that Tamil Nadu's intellectual renaissance depends on university graduates who combine technical mastery with deep social consciousness to solve real-world problems.
