Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin celebrated the state's undisputed status as India's leading higher education destination, underpinned by comprehensive academic reforms and targeted student welfare schemes. He highlighted flagship initiatives under the Dravidian Model governance, including the Naan Mudhalvan youth skilling program, the Pudhumai Penn monthly financial incentive for female college students, the Chief Minister Research Grant, and the 7.5 percent preferential quota for government school graduates in professional colleges.
Stalin observed that these integrated interventions have systematically dismantled socio-economic barriers to tertiary learning, propelling Tamil Nadu's Gross Enrollment Ratio well beyond fifty-one percent—almost double the national average. By providing financial support, industry-aligned technical curriculum, and career mentorship, the state ensures that rural and disadvantaged students access rewarding professional trajectories across engineering, medicine, and management.
Congratulating newly graduating students, the Chief Minister urged them to leverage their academic accomplishments to advance personal success while contributing meaningfully to the progress of Tamil Nadu and the nation. He reaffirmed that sustained public investment in educational infrastructure and scientific research creates an enlightened, self-reliant, and socially progressive society capable of global leadership.
