"Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable" என்ற வரிக்கேற்பத் தம் படைப்புகளில் எல்லாம் அரசியலை நுழைத்து, சமூக இழிவுகளைச் சாடிய அசலான கலைஞருக்கு அவரது தாய்வீடாம் தென்னகத் திரையுலகத்தின் சொந்தங்கள் எல்லாம் கூடி எடுத்த #கலைஞர்100 மாபெரும் கலைவிழா கண்டு - அக்காவியத் தலைவனின் கொள்கை வாரிசாக, அவர் பண்படுத்திய தமிழ் மண்ணின் முதலமைச்சராக அகமகிழ்கிறேன்.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed profound gratitude to the South Indian film industry for organizing the monumental Kalaignar 100 cultural celebration in Chennai to honor the centenary of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. Stalin observed that while Karunanidhi scaled unparalleled heights in national politics, playing decisive kingmaker roles in selecting Prime Ministers and Presidents, he cherished the identity of 'Kalaignar' above all official titles. His sixty-five-year journey in Tamil cinema transformed movies into potent instruments of social enlightenment.
Reflecting on Karunanidhi's literary motto that art must comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable, Stalin noted that his screenplays shattered caste taboos, challenged superstition, and ignited the self-respect movement across generations of Tamils. Speaking both as Karunanidhi's ideological successor and grateful son, Stalin thanked cinema luminaries, including Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, for honoring the leader's artistic genius.
The Chief Minister declared that genuine artists and their creative contributions live eternally in people's hearts. He reaffirmed that the Dravidian movement will continue using art, literature, and cinema to champion human dignity, social equity, and progressive democratic values across Tamil society.
