Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin commended MSME Minister T.M. Anbarasan and department officials after Tamil Nadu secured the top rank in the national StartUp India rankings for 2022. The state climbed from the lowest rung in 2018 under the previous regime to become the country's best-performing startup ecosystem. Stalin credited comprehensive structural reforms, including the TANSEED seed grant fund, targeted venture capital for Adi Dravidar and tribal entrepreneurs, and regional LaunchPad initiatives, for driving this rapid transformation.
The state currently hosts over 7,600 registered startups, with 2,250 innovative enterprises registered in 2022 alone as tangible proof of rapid industrial growth. Stalin emphasized that this remarkable surge demonstrates the concrete impact of progressive policies under the Dravidian Model administration. Targeted financial assistance and incubation support have decentralized entrepreneurial opportunities beyond metropolitan centers into tier-two and tier-three regional hubs.
Calling for sustained momentum, Stalin urged administrative teams to retain this preeminent position and strive for greater developmental milestones. He reaffirmed that fostering technology ventures and inclusive entrepreneurship remains vital to building a modern, knowledge-driven industrial economy that creates quality technical employment opportunities for Tamil Nadu youth.
