Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated newly constructed higher education infrastructure built at a cost of 96.75 crore rupees across state universities and government colleges, reinforcing the administration's commitment to academic excellence. Stalin stressed that strengthening college campuses ensures modern laboratory amenities, spacious lecture halls, and expanded research facilities for students from disadvantaged rural and semi-urban communities.
Alongside education assets, the Chief Minister unveiled significant cultural memorials celebrating Tamil scholars and freedom fighters. He dedicated a memorial hall for Italian-Tamil linguist Constanzo Beschi, popularly known as Veeramamunivar, a bronze bust of patriotic poet Namakkal Kavignar Ramalingam Pillai, and a commemorative pillar honoring Sangam poet Kaniyan Poongundranar. Stalin also laid foundation stones for statues honoring brave freedom fighters Kuyili, Valukku Veli Ambalam, and Venni Kaladi, alongside an auditorium memorializing the historic meeting between Mahatma Gandhi and communist leader Comrade Jeevanandham.
The Chief Minister affirmed that honoring historical figures and freedom icons inspires progressive youth to cherish the twin ideals of linguistic pride and anti-colonial patriotism while pursuing modern higher education. He reiterated that expanding educational infrastructure across government colleges guarantees social mobility, scientific temper, and equitable opportunities for disadvantaged students throughout Tamil Nadu.
