Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin welcomed Governor Tokihiro Nakamura of Ehime Prefecture, Japan, along with an extensive delegation of 67 corporate and trade executives at the state secretariat in Chennai. Stalin expressed immense satisfaction at the swift, tangible commercial outcomes resulting from his official investment mission to Tokyo and Osaka in May 2023. A comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding was formalized between Guidance Tamil Nadu and Ehime Prefecture to deepen industrial collaboration and capital investments.

The agreement focuses on expanding bilateral partnerships in advanced manufacturing, automotive engineering, food processing technologies, and renewable equipment development. Stalin presented Tamil Nadu's superior infrastructure, proactive single-window clearances, and deep bench of engineering talent, assuring Japanese corporate boards of total administrative facilitation. He highlighted that Japanese companies have long considered Tamil Nadu their primary industrial gateway to South Asia, establishing extensive manufacturing operations across regional corridors.

The Chief Minister commended Governor Nakamura for leading such an extensive commercial contingent to explore state opportunities. Stalin declared that this landmark bilateral partnership will generate specialized employment for local youth while accelerating Tamil Nadu's ambitious goal of reaching a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2030.
