Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin officially inaugurated the world-class Kalaignar Centenary Jallikattu Arena at Alanganallur in Madurai district, establishing a permanent stadium for Tamil Nadu's traditional bull-taming sport. Stalin observed that within three years of assuming office, the DMK government created three monumental landmarks in Madurai: the Keeladi Museum celebrating ancient Tamil civilization, the Kalaignar Centenary Library expanding intellectual knowledge, and this magnificent arena honoring Tamil martial valor.
The Chief Minister contrasted the state government's rapid infrastructure delivery with the union government's long-delayed AIIMS hospital project in Madurai, which remains an empty single brick eight years after its political announcement. Stalin pointed out that while the union government makes empty promises, the Dravidian Model government translates foundational dreams into operational public assets for citizens. The modern stadium features state-of-the-art galleries, veterinary care bays, emergency medical units, and seating for thousands of spectators.
Stalin affirmed that preserving rural cultural heritage goes hand-in-hand with modern civic development under his administration. He expressed immense pride in gifting this grand sporting complex to the agricultural communities and youth of southern Tamil Nadu for generations to celebrate.
