Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin strongly criticized the Union government's interim budget presentation, denouncing the Union Finance Minister's classification of women, youth, farmers, and the impoverished as four separate castes. Stalin declared that cloaking socioeconomic groups under the terminology of caste reflects an ideological attempt to normalize retrogressive social structures within parliamentary discourse. He pointed out that true social justice addresses entrenched caste hierarchies through affirmative action, targeted welfare measures, and equitable wealth redistribution.
The Chief Minister asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party's rhetoric exposes an insincere commitment to social equality and marginalized empowerment. He stated that superficial classifications cannot substitute for constitutionally mandated reservations, caste census enumeration, or targeted welfare outlays for oppressed communities. Stalin affirmed that genuine economic progress requires expanding educational access and democratic dignity rather than reviving outdated conceptual frameworks that obscure caste discrimination.
Stalin argued that only the INDIA bloc possesses the political vision needed to build an inclusive and equitable republic. He called on citizens across the country to reject regressive political narratives, uphold federal diversity, and safeguard constitutional secularism and social democracy.
