Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin lauded the Department of Information Technology and Digital Services and Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan for successfully conducting the International Kani Tamil 24 Conference in Chennai. Stalin recalled that former Chief Minister Kalaignar Karunanidhi pioneered institutional digital Tamil initiatives twenty-five years earlier by organizing the historic 'Tamilnet 99' summit. The modern three-day conference provided a crucial roadmap for adapting the classical Tamil language to cutting-edge technological paradigms, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing tools.
The Chief Minister noted that language survival and vitality in the modern era depend heavily on seamless integration with global computational infrastructure and open-source software ecosystems. By bringing together computational linguists, software developers, and research scholars from across the globe, the conference catalyzed new software frameworks for Tamil voice recognition, digital archiving, and automated machine translation. Stalin emphasized that Tamil must keep pace with leading world languages across the digital frontier.
Stalin extended warm congratulations to all organizers, computational researchers, and participants whose contributions made the conference a landmark success. He affirmed that the Dravidian Model government remains fully committed to technological linguistic empowerment, ensuring Tamil flourishes vibrantly across future computational platforms.
