Editorial context

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin congratulated twenty-three-year-old Sripathy from Puliyur village in the Jawadhu Hills of Tiruvannamalai district for clearing the highly competitive Civil Judge examinations. Stalin expressed immense pride that a young woman from an underprivileged tribal hamlet reached this prestigious judicial post, overcoming severe geographical and socioeconomic barriers. He highlighted that Sripathy secured her judicial selection under the state government's Persons Studied in Tamil Medium reservation policy, which reserves government recruitment vacancies for candidates educated in their mother tongue.

The Chief Minister commended Sripathy's mother and husband for offering steadfast domestic support that enabled her to pursue legal education and excel in state judicial exams. Stalin noted that Sripathy's resounding achievement delivers a resounding rebuke to detractors who question or denigrate the transformative efficacy of affirmative social justice policies. Quoting revolutionary poet Pavendhar Bharathidasan on the indispensable necessity of female education, Stalin reiterated that educating women remains the paramount catalyst for elevating families and advancing society.

Stalin affirmed that the Dravidian Model administration will continue enacting progressive affirmative action policies that dismantle historic exclusions. He asserted that seeing marginalized daughters ascend judicial benches represents the ultimate realization of social justice.
