Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed profound anguish over the tragic explosion at a private firecracker manufacturing unit in Vembakottai, Virudhunagar district, which claimed ten lives. Offering heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, Stalin immediately dispatched Revenue and Disaster Management Minister K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran and Labour Welfare Minister C.V. Ganesan to the site. The ministers were directed to personally coordinate emergency medical care for the injured and ensure rapid distribution of state solatium to affected households.
The Chief Minister instructed the district collector and health authorities to provide the highest quality medical treatment to workers suffering from severe burn injuries at specialized government facilities. He emphasized that the state government stands in total solidarity with the grieving industrial workers and will provide full institutional backing to support their rehabilitation. Stalin ordered local administration and explosive safety regulators to conduct comprehensive safety inspections across all regional fireworks factories to prevent recurring industrial accidents.
Stalin affirmed that stringent safety protocols must be enforced without compromise in hazardous manufacturing sectors. He assured that the government will continue providing swift humanitarian assistance and medical support to every affected family during this distressing crisis.
