Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M.K. Stalin extended warm felicitations to K. Selvaperunthagai upon his appointment as the new president of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee. Emphasizing the close ideological synergy between the DMK and the Congress within the national INDIA bloc, Stalin expressed confidence that Selvaperunthagai will effectively lead party ranks toward decisive electoral successes. He noted that their alliance is anchored not merely in tactical electoral calculations, but in an enduring shared commitment to social justice, constitutional democracy, and secularism.
Stalin also commended outgoing TNCC chief K.S. Alagiri for his dedicated leadership since 2019, noting that his tenure delivered successive parliamentary and assembly victories for the Secular Progressive Alliance. The Chief Minister congratulated newly chosen Congress Legislature Party leader S. Rajesh Kumar, wishing him immense success in coordinating legislative proceedings. He stated that the united front among coalition partners remains vital to countering authoritarian trends and protecting the country's diverse federal character.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed that the DMK and Congress will travel together with resolute purpose in the 2024 parliamentary elections, spearheading the nationwide struggle to secure an INDIA bloc victory.
