உட்கட்டமைப்பு வளர்ச்சி என்றாலே தி.மு.க. அரசுதான்! Not just plans, we're laying the groundwork for a brighter future. @KN_NEHRU #DravidianModel...

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin reaffirmed his administration's dedication to robust public infrastructure, citing the successful completion and launch of the 150 MLD seawater desalination facility at Nemmeli. Stalin pointed out that unlike previous administrations that made promises on paper, the Dravidian Model government translates foundational blueprints into operational public assets. Accompanied by Municipal Administration Minister K.N. Nehru, the Chief Minister underscored that securing permanent drinking water sources for Chennai's expanding urban population remains a paramount priority.

The newly commissioned plant leverages modern reverse osmosis technology to convert seawater into potable supply, servicing southern municipal divisions including Velachery, Alandur, and surrounding suburban neighborhoods. Stalin explained that persistent climate variability necessitates forward-looking capital works that insulate metropolitan centers from recurring droughts. By commissioning this critical water installation, the government has created durable civic infrastructure that enhances everyday public well-being.

The Chief Minister noted that sustainable water management serves as an engine of long-term economic stability and public health. He affirmed that the state government will maintain its momentum across all infrastructure sectors, building climate-resilient systems that ensure every household enjoys dependable municipal amenities.
