Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed flood-affected residents in Thoothukudi and Tirunelveli, detailing the state government's rapid four-stage disaster response and distributing comprehensive financial assistance. Stalin emphasized that his administration mobilized rescue teams with lightning speed, delivered doorstep financial assistance to every affected household within ten days, restored essential infrastructure within thirty days, and framed comprehensive long-term reconstruction plans within sixty days. He condemned the Union government for failing to provide a single rupee of disaster relief despite multiple requests.
The Chief Minister asserted that while central authorities displayed callous political indifference, the Dravidian Model government stepped forward using state budgetary reserves to support families in distress. Stalin personally distributed livelihood support, agricultural compensation for crop losses, and rebuilding grants to small business owners and artisanal fisherfolk. He reminded the people that he stood by them on the ground as a caring family member rather than a detached political leader, ensuring that administrative relief reached every damaged home.
