Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the newly constructed state-of-the-art Medical Research and Outpatient Centre at the historic G. Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital in Coimbatore. Stalin commended the premier charitable institution for its stellar track record spanning over seven decades of delivering accessible, high-quality medical care to underprivileged families on par with leading public hospitals. He noted that the new multi-specialty research block will significantly augment clinical investigations, advanced diagnostics, and outpatient healthcare delivery across the western region.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Tamil Nadu's national leadership in healthcare stems from the harmonious coexistence of world-class government hospitals and ethically committed private institutions. Stalin outlined transformative healthcare initiatives executed under the Dravidian Model, including the Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam doorstep medical screening initiative and the Innuyir Kaappom-Nammai Kaakkum 48 emergency trauma care scheme. These public health policies guarantee that financial hardship never deprives a citizen of life-saving medical care.
Stalin expressed warm appreciation to the medical faculty, management, and healthcare workers of GKNM Hospital for their humanitarian services. He reaffirmed that the state government will continue supporting healthcare research to enhance public wellbeing across all communities.
