Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin highlighted the impactful functioning of the innovative 'Neengal Nalama' public outreach program, designed to evaluate grassroots implementation and refine state welfare policies through direct citizen feedback. During interactive telephone conversations with program beneficiaries, a working woman residing in a government-run Thozhi Hostel proposed utilizing the hostel premises as comprehensive wellbeing and counseling centers. Stalin immediately accepted the progressive suggestion, announcing that his administration will formalize and implement the concept across all facilities.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the primary objective of Neengal Nalama is establishing an uninterrupted channel between administrative leadership and everyday citizens. The Thozhi Hostel initiative, established by the Tamil Nadu Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department, provides safe, affordable, and modern residential accommodations for women working away from their hometowns. Integrating holistic wellness, recreation, and mental healthcare amenities into these hostels further strengthens institutional support for female workforce mobility.
Stalin affirmed that his government remains dedicated to continuous public feedback and administrative improvement. He pledged that constructive citizen suggestions will remain fundamentally integral to advancing and modernizing Tamil Nadu's women-centric social welfare ecosystem across all districts.
