Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched major expansion initiatives under the flagship North Chennai Development Scheme, allocating a massive outlay of 4,181 crore rupees for infrastructure overhaul. Addressing an enthusiastic gathering in Chennai, Stalin emphasized that northern Chennai has historically driven the economic vibrancy of the metropolis through its dedicated working-class populace. The sanctioned projects encompass upgraded underground drainage systems, enhanced road corridors, modernized drinking water distribution facilities, and specialized healthcare centers situated directly in densely populated neighborhoods.
Stalin underscored that equitable urban development constitutes a central pillar of his Dravidian Model administration. For several decades, north Chennai suffered administrative neglect and inadequate public investments, leaving critical infrastructure vulnerable to climate hazards and urban crowding. The present package introduces modern educational complexes, multi-purpose community recreation centers, and upgraded transit linkages designed to elevate everyday living standards.
The Chief Minister asserted that these capital investments demonstrate his government's steadfast commitment to inclusive social justice. He directed executing agencies to adhere strictly to construction timelines and transparent engineering standards, ensuring that northern Chennai emerges as an engine of sustainable civic and industrial prosperity.
