Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed the massive joint rally of the INDIA alliance at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, issuing a clarion call from Maharashtra's historic soil to safeguard India's federal democracy. Invoking the foundational Dravidian slogan 'Autonomy for States, Federalism at the Centre' (Maanilathil Suyaatchi, Mathiyil Koottaatchi), Stalin declared that India can flourish only when regional identities, state languages, and state governments are accorded dignity and constitutional respect. The rally brought together top opposition national leaders, demonstrating unity against the Union BJP regime's centralized governance.
Stalin criticized the central government for systematically usurping state financial rights, deploying central agencies against elected regional administrations, and imposing uniform cultural doctrines. He asserted that the struggle for federalism started by Periyar and Anna in the south now resonates across western and northern India. Stalin urged citizens to unite behind the INDIA coalition to preserve India's constitutional plurality and protect cooperative federalism.
The Chief Minister declared that the time has arrived to put an end to central tyranny through the power of the ballot. Stalin affirmed that a united public mandate will lead to the dawn of a truly federal India.
