Strongly condemn Union BJP Minister @ShobhaBJP's reckless statement. One must either be an NIA official or closely linked to the #RameshwaramCafeBlast to make such claims. Clearly, she lacks the authority for such assertions. Tamilians and Kannadigas alike will reject this divisive rhetoric of BJP.

I also urge for an appropriate legal action against Shobha for causing threat to peace, harmony and national unity.

From the Prime Minister to cadre, everyone in the BJP should stop engaging in this dirty divisive politics at once.

ECI must take note of this hate speech and initiate stringent action immediately.

Editorial context

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued a blistering condemnation of Union Minister of State and BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje for making reckless, divisive remarks linking Tamilians to the Bengaluru cafe bomb blast. Stalin asserted that both Tamilians and Kannadigas will firmly reject such toxic rhetoric aimed at disturbing inter-state fraternity and peaceful coexistence. He pointed out that if there were any shred of truth in her baseless claims, central investigative agencies would have acted immediately, exposing her remarks as malicious fabrications designed to create communal and linguistic tension during elections.

Stalin demanded an immediate public apology, warning of stringent legal action under penal laws for provoking hostility between linguistic communities. He also urged the Election Commission of India to take prompt cognizance of her hate speech and penalize code of conduct violations. Reaffirming that Tamil Nadu cherishes brotherhood with neighbouring Karnataka, Stalin called for an immediate end to polarizing politics.

The Chief Minister emphasized that regional harmony represents an indispensable pillar of national unity. He affirmed that Tamil Nadu will vigorously pursue legal measures to protect its people from defamatory political abuse.
