DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed a mammoth parliamentary election campaign rally in the historic port city of Thoothukudi, broadcasting the event live. Invoking the legendary legacy of freedom fighter V.O. Chidambaranar, Stalin stated that Thoothukudi represents the historic cradle of anti-imperialist resistance and regional self-respect in Tamil Nadu. Stalin detailed his government's transformative industrial investments in the southern coastal belt, including establishing a state-of-the-art electric vehicle manufacturing hub, international furniture park, and expanded green hydrogen energy projects. He highlighted the rapid flood relief operations led by his cabinet ministers following the unprecedented southern district floods of December 2023, contrasting it with the Union government's refusal to release special disaster relief funds. Stalin pointed out that while the DMK administration stood with affected citizens, central authorities ignored Tamil Nadu's rightful financial demands.

The Chief Minister appealed to voters to support INDIA bloc candidate Kanimozhi Karunanidhi with a historic mandate. Stalin emphasized that electing courageous representatives is indispensable to safeguard state rights and protect the maritime economy.
