Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin highlighted a startling investigative report published by The Indian Express, which documented how central investigative agencies systematically halted corruption probes against opposition politicians who defected to the Bharatiya Janata Party. Stalin noted that out of twenty-five prominent opposition leaders who crossed over to the BJP, criminal proceedings were stalled in twenty cases, while investigations were completely terminated in three others.
The Chief Minister asserted that this documented record completely dismantles the Prime Minister's anti-corruption claims, proving that premier investigative bodies like the Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax department, and Central Bureau of Investigation function as political instruments for the ruling party. Quoting Perarignar Anna's historic warning against duplicity, Stalin observed that political figures accused of extensive financial fraud are magically exonerated once they align with the central administration.
Stalin stated that the ruling party's true family consists of the ED, IT, and CBI, which are weaponized against political dissent while shielding corrupt allies. He urged citizens to vote for the INDIA alliance on April 19, declaring that restoring democratic accountability requires liberating national investigative institutions from brazen partisan manipulation.
