DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin warmly welcomed the 2024 Lok Sabha election manifesto released by the Indian National Congress, hailing it as a powerful blueprint for restoring state autonomy and constitutional democracy. Stalin stated that the manifesto provides a fitting and conclusive answer to critics who questioned whether a regional party like the DMK could successfully fulfill its state-oriented commitments at the national level.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the national manifesto comprehensively incorporates key demands championed by the DMK, including fiscal autonomy for states, constitutional safeguards for regional languages, abolition of standardized exams like NEET, and enhanced devolution of financial resources. Stalin emphasized that the partnership between the DMK and the Congress is not a mere opportunistic electoral arrangement, but a deep ideological coalition rooted in shared commitments to secularism, social justice, and federalism.
Stalin called upon the electorate to rally solidly behind the INDIA bloc on April 19. He affirmed that electing alliance representatives will reclaim the fundamental rights that the AIADMK mortgaged and that the authoritarian BJP systematically usurped from the people of Tamil Nadu.
