Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin released video highlights from his election campaign in Puducherry, urging citizens to back INDIA bloc candidate V. Vaithilingam. The shared footage captured energetic public gatherings attended by diverse sections of the coastal territory, including fishermen, youth, small traders, and women. Stalin emphasized that Puducherry urgently needs strong parliamentary leadership to defend regional rights and counter central encroachments.

Stalin pointed out that appointed Lieutenant Governors and the Union government have repeatedly undermined Puducherry’s elected assembly, blocking welfare distribution and delaying key municipal projects. He noted that administrative friction created by central authorities has hurt local commerce and compromised civic governance across the territory. The DMK leader maintained that elected legislators must possess full democratic authority to manage regional finances without interference from central appointees.

The Chief Minister stated that a decisive victory for the INDIA alliance in Puducherry would reinforce the collective struggle of southern states for constitutional federalism. Stalin appealed to the electorate to reject parties allied with the central administration on April 19, asserting that democratic accountability and sustained public development require representative self-governance.
