Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin questioned the moral justification of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's election campaign visits to Tamil Nadu, highlighting a decade of systemic neglect and unfulfilled central commitments. Stalin pointed out that the Union government failed to deliver even the single major healthcare project announced for the state: the Madurai All India Institute of Medical Sciences hospital, which remains unconstructed years after its foundation.
The Chief Minister criticized the central leadership for treating Tamil Nadu like a seasonal bird sanctuary, visiting exclusively during election campaigns while consistently ignoring the state's urgent representations during natural disasters and financial crises. Stalin asked whether the citizens of Tamil Nadu are not equal stakeholders in the Indian republic, entitled to fair infrastructural investments and healthcare development funded by their own tax contributions.
Stalin called upon the electorate to reject superficial campaign promises and hold the Union government accountable for stalling critical regional development. He urged citizens to vote decisively for the INDIA bloc on April 19 to ensure that a progressive central administration that genuinely respects Tamil Nadu and fulfills public health commitments assumes power in New Delhi.
