DMK president M.K. Stalin condemned attempts by the Bharatiya Janata Party to introduce confrontation into the industrial center of Tiruppur, asserting that Tamil Nadu cannot be governed by arrogance or coercion. Stalin commended Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's empathetic engagement with regional concerns during his election tour, noting that genuine affection and responsible commitments represent the true foundation for governance.

Stalin highlighted the acute challenges faced by western Tamil Nadu's industrial ecosystem, which endured heavy disruptions under the twin shocks of central demonetization and an inflexible Goods and Services Tax structure. He pointed out that spinning mills, garment exporters, weaving units, and engineering enterprises suffered severe losses, leading to widespread factory closures and substantial job cuts among skilled workers.

The DMK leader pledged that an incoming INDIA bloc administration would enact sweeping economic and taxation reforms to revitalize manufacturing hubs. He promised rationalized GST rates, targeted credit assistance for micro and small enterprises, and stabilized raw material pricing. Stalin called upon the industrial community and workers of western districts to vote decisively for the INDIA alliance to restore sustainable economic prosperity.
