Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed profound sorrow and distress over the catastrophic building fire in Mangaf, Kuwait, which claimed the lives of more than forty Indian migrant workers and left dozens seriously injured. Conveying heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, Stalin immediately directed the Commissionerate of Non-Resident Tamils' Welfare and Rehabilitation to coordinate with the Ministry of External Affairs, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait, and local Tamil diaspora associations to identify affected residents from Tamil Nadu.
The state government swiftly established round-the-clock emergency helpdesk numbers, enabling worried relatives in India and abroad to obtain accurate information regarding injured or deceased workers. Stalin confirmed that the administration is monitoring medical treatment provided to hospitalized workers, assuring families that the state government will provide all necessary financial, medical, and administrative aid, including expediting the repatriation of mortal remains.
Stalin emphasized that expatriate workers who travel abroad to support their families back home deserve the highest degree of safety and state protection. He affirmed that Tamil Nadu stands in firm solidarity with the diaspora community during this severe crisis, ensuring rapid humanitarian assistance.
