Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced a special Kuruvai cultivation package for agricultural producers across the Cauvery delta districts, introducing targeted financial and input subsidies to protect seasonal paddy crops amid the delayed onset of monsoon rains. Recognizing that inadequate water storage in Mettur Dam poses severe challenges for early sowing, the government rolled out dedicated assistance to ensure that farmers sustain agricultural operations without facing severe economic losses.

The relief framework includes subsidized quality certified seeds, micro-nutrient mixtures, bio-fertilizers, and mechanized paddy transplanter rental concessions channeled through primary agricultural cooperative credit societies. Stalin directed district collectors, agricultural extension officers, and revenue officials to work in close coordination, instructing them to ensure that scheme benefits reach every eligible farmer directly and without bureaucratic friction or distribution delays.
