Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed shock and deep grief over the loss of lives caused by the consumption of spurious illicit liquor in Kallakurichi district. Stalin confirmed that law enforcement agencies initiated immediate punitive action, arresting the primary suspects involved in sourcing and distributing the lethal brew, while initiating prompt departmental suspensions and inquiries against local police and prohibition enforcement officials who failed to prevent the crime.
The Chief Minister asserted that the state government will suppress illicit liquor networks and related organized criminal activities with an iron hand. Stalin appealed to members of the public to report any knowledge or suspicion of illicit liquor brewing or distribution in their neighborhoods, promising that informant identities will be safeguarded and actionable intelligence will be met with swift, decisive police intervention.
Stalin emphasized that safeguarding citizen lives and public health remains the administration's foremost priority. By enforcing zero tolerance against contraband substances and eradicating corrupt collusion at the local level, the government seeks to eliminate toxic liquor rings permanently. Stalin reiterated his resolve to hold every responsible offender accountable under stringent criminal statutes to deter future offenses statewide.
